Koralai Pattu (Valachchenai) Divisional Secretariat & Koralai Pattu West (Oddamavadi) Divisional Secretariat are Divisional Secretariats of Batticaloa District, of Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. Valaichchenai has Tamil communities and also Muslims live in Oddamavadi Village. Tamil and Muslim people live east and west of the Valaichenai Main Street, respectively.

Current Economy

Banana, coconut and paddy plantations has been providing the main income along with some fishing and tourism. This was changed with the establishment of the National Paper Company Limited and the contribution for the GDP from Koralai Pattu (Valachchenai) Divisional Secretariat & Koralai Pattu West (Oddamavadi) Divisional Secretariat, increased significantly. In current environment where the National Paper Company Limited, Valaichchenai is dormant and the tourism in the vicinity is picking up slowly, the contribution for the GDP is not that significant.

He later stepped into the r Japanese vehicle impoter and then proceeded to the industry of Tourism. 10 years later he shifted into the luggage manufacturing.He did Hunting & fishing bags , Backpacks, Duffle Bags, Sports bags and many varieties of travel wear orders to K-Mart,Wal Mart,High Sierra, Levi's production for the Export Market. Mangala is well versed in the social services sector where he has supported heavily with serving lower income families with their education and well being.

Later He served as the Competent Authority for the National Paper Company Limited of Sri Lanka. He was involved in the recycle paper industry in the country for approximately 5 years. Awarded the title “Deshamanya” in Sri Lanka, for his meritorious services, Mangala is a valued asset, as Government Liaison, opening many doors and opportunities at the highest levels.He is readiness for any challenges in any industry makes him noteworthy.
